Marcus Rockwell Trio

The Marcus Rockwell Trio is a melting pot of three creative soul’s blended together to create a unique sound of straight ahead jazz, smooth jazz, gospel jazz, country, pop,  R&B and a splash of salsa! Their new CD titled “Simplex” comes from the combination of the words, “simple” and “complex”. It is a perfect description of their music and their lives as working musicians, husbands and fathers. It begins with their love for music that is inspired by their Creator, whether it be classical (“Ave Maria”), gospel (“God’s Light”), smooth jazz (“Breezin”) or funk (“Summertime Remix”). Every song is like breathing fresh air for the listener. The trio is comprised of Marcus Rockwell on trumpet, flugelhorn, and vocals; Stephen Morris on keyboards, bass synth, vocoder, and drum programming; and Marvin “Stixx” Johnson on drums.
